The goal of the Life Sciences Greenhouse of Central Pennsylvania (LSG) is to promote the development of economic growth from advances in the life sciences. To accomplish this goal, the LSG will develop cooperative programs that enhance the interactions between industry and research universities in the region.

The LSG is a cooperative venture, encompassing a wide geographic rangein central PA, and relies on the research base of Penn State University and Lehigh University. Specific outcomes will benchmark the success of the LSG, these include; direct new job creation anticipated to be in the range of 1,000 positions, expansion of service-related jobs, development of new startup firms (totaling 40 within 5 years), enhancement of existing regional industry, and relocation of biotechnology firms to the region.

The mission of the LSG of Central PA will be to enhance and translate important discoveries in the life sciences into economic growth and job creation in the Central PA region.
